The Black Crowes just announced the Shake Your Money Maker 2022 Tour, and they are making a stop at Tanglewood Music Center on Wednesday, 29th June 2022. The band, which released their debut album Shake Your Money Maker in 1990, celebrates their 30th anniversary of the record’s release with 34 stops in the United States. Black Crowes’ fans can expect the band to perform the tracks from the record, as well as “all the hits.” Initially set for 2020, the Shake Your Money Maker tour was rescheduled to 2022. Before the release of Shake Your Money Maker, The Black Crowes were already making a name for themselves in the music scene. Brothers Chris and Rich Robinson were already recording demos and performing at famous rock venues like C.B.G.B.
Their debut album, Shake Your Money Maker, includes the hits “ Hard to Handle,” “Twice as Hard,” and “She Talks to Angels.” The record sold more than five million copies and later received platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The record served as a breakthrough album for the band. Shake Your Money Maker was also responsible for shaping the band’s career.
The Black Crowes, who had to delay their 30th-anniversary tour due to circumstances that cannot be controlled, are ecstatic that the tour finally continues this 2022. In an interview, singer Chris Robinson described how excited they were to get back on tour. “To finally get out there and do exactly what we wanted to do- all the loud guitars in this era where there’s a lack of rock ‘n roll- to do something really alive and kind of wooly and wild. It’s amazing.”
The Shake Your Money Maker 2022 Tour is special for The Black Crowes fans because this is also the first time that brothers Chris and Rich Robinson will be touring together since their initial breakup in 2015. In 2019, the brothers reunited and planned the 2020 Shake Your Money Maker Tour.
