Together, they dropped an unlikely collaboration album, Raising Sand. Critics have hailed the country/ Americana record for its “most effortless-sounding pairing in modern popular music” and the Plant’s and Krauss's exemplary vocal performance. Upon its release, the album dominated the Top Rock Albums chart and peaked at number 2 on the Billboard 200. It also became a worldwide hit after entering the charts in 15 countries. The album was eventually nominated and won Album of the Year at the Grammy Awards two years after its release.
In 2021, Plant and Krauss once again joined forces to deliver their new collaborative album, Raise the Roof. This noteworthy follow-up effort topped the Independent Albums and peaked at numbers 3 and 7 on the Top Country Albums and Billboard 200. The album later received three nominations at the Grammy Awards under the categories Best Americana Album, Best Country Duo/Group Performance for “Going Where the Lonely Go,” and Best American Roots song for the track “High and Lonesome.”
