James Taylor is regarded as one of the greatest and best-selling singers of the century. The Grammy-nominated effort spawned Taylor’s early hits, such as “Fire and Rain” and “Country Road.” in 1976, Taylor released his first compilation album, Greatest Hits, and sold over 12 million copies in the U.S.
Taylor, who rose to prominence during the 60s and 70s, has remained a force in modern contemporary music. He has consistently earned platinum and gold certifications for his later works. In 2002, the fifteenth studio album, October Road, peaked at number 4 on the U.S. charts and sold over one million copies. Meanwhile, his 2004 holiday effort, A Christmas Album, was a hot commodity, earning a platinum certification after one million copies sold.
